Planetary Peace for Human Security: Responses to Existential Risks in the Anthropocene

Peace humanity

In this report, the Club of Rome argues that the current peace architecture, largely shaped by a few dominant powers in the post–World War II era, is no longer fit for purpose. A post-hegemonic, pluriversal future is needed—one that embraces diverse worldviews, rebalances global power structures, and cultivates harmony between humanity and nature. The Club of Rome calls for a fundamental rethinking of the concept of peace, positioning it as an active, systems-based process that centers the well-being of people, the planet, and future generations. It advocates for long-term global cooperation that prioritizes regeneration over depletion, equity over domination, and collective flourishing over individual gain.
