This website presents Control Risks’ RiskMap 2026. It identifies four interconnected risks defining the global business environment in 2026: a new rules — no rules world, where governments are abandoning established norms in favour of transactional arrangements, replacing multilateral frameworks with protectionism and backroom deals; the rise of activated societies, where generations mobilised by grievance and inequality are increasingly directing their anger at governments and businesses; the growing web of organised crime, exploiting instability and technology to infiltrate industries and supply chains; and the AI compute contest, where access to computing power is becoming a defining driver of geopolitical and business competitiveness. Cutting across all four is the normalisation trap — the danger that as volatility becomes routine, organisations grow complacent and underprepared.
